I’m a reporter at The New York Times writing about the economy. In previous lives, I’ve worked atĀ ProPublica, CNN Business, the Houston Chronicle, the Washington Post, The New Republic, the Washington City Paper. I’ve ridden shotgun on rice combines and trash haulers and farm pickups and 18-wheelers and black-SUV motorcades to get stories about how policy affects people. Before that, I went to Columbia College in New York City, where I spent most of my time blogging. Before that, I grew up in Seattle, which I desperately miss.
This website is mostly a repository for my stuff, which you can find on the other page. You can email me at lydia.depillis@nytimes.com or reach me on Signal at 202-913-3717. Thanks for visiting.
